The NFL will welcome a new set of stars a couple of months from now.
The NFL Draft is just around the corner, and with the Super Bowl already in the books, people will dig even deeper into the tape to watch the stars of tomorrow.
With that in mind, NFL analyst Emory Hunt had a rather interesting comparison.
Talking on the “Ross Tucker Podcast,” Hunt compared Cam Ward to Patrick Mahomes.
While he acknowledges that he’s a little shorter, he believes scouts are saying the same things about Ward that they said about Mahomes back then.
“What strikes me as a similar comp to Cam Ward.. Maybe he's maybe a little bit shorter than this guy… and that's Patrick Mahomes.”@FballGamePlan explains why: pic.twitter.com/0wr20tMsMW

He also sees similar arm talent.
Hunt said that Ward made every single program he played for a must-watch team.
That’s fair, and he does carry the same ‘careless’ label that scouts often used to describe Mahomes.
Of course, Mahomes has become the new standard and blueprint for what teams hope to come across in the NFL Draft.
Then again, it’s not like generational players come around that often.
There are plenty of things to like about Ward, who might even end up being the first guy off the board come NFL Draft night.
There are also legitimate concerns about him.
Nevertheless, if players like Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes have taught us something, it is that there’s no exact science when it comes to the draft.
