The Kansas City Chiefs and their fans are in a rough spot just days after getting dismantled by the Philadelphia Eagles 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, thwarting their hopes of becoming the first team in NFL history to complete a 3-peat in the process.
It’s too early to start thinking about next season since the pain is so fresh, but for Eagles fans, it’s never too early as one notable actor and Eagles fan is feeling so good that he recently took things even further and proclaimed the Chiefs won’t even make the playoffs next year.
Actor Morris Chestnut is apparently a firm believer in the Super Bowl hangover and recently stopped by Good Morning Football to say, “I believe that the Philadelphia Eagles and Vic Fangio gave the Chiefs the Buster Douglas knockout blow…The Chiefs had such an edge because they had all these close games that they would miraculously pull out…so I believe now that the Eagles put on such a dominant display…I don’t think the Chiefs are going to make the playoffs next year.”

Perhaps he was so confident being that the Eagles’ championship parade was today, or perhaps he is taking advantage of the fact that he is an actor and won’t have to answer for this take in a year when the Chiefs return to the playoffs once again, but this is a scalding take against a team that has made seven consecutive AFC title games.
It’s certainly not unprecedented given how many Super Bowl losers have missed the playoffs the following years, as the San Francisco 49ers just did, but this would be a truly shocking development if it were to come true.
