The Indianapolis Colts need to make a tough decision.
Anthony Richardson’s decision to tap himself out of a game was met with some serious backlash, and understandably so.
A lot of people who have been around the game for decades, including former players, claimed that they had never seen a quarterback voluntarily remove himself from a game out of exhaustion.
His decision may have cost him his starting job and — more importantly — his credibility.
That’s why Emmanuel Acho believes he ought to be benched.
Talking on “The Facility,” the former NFL player stated that Richardson needs to be reminded that playing in the NFL is a privilege and not a right.

He argued that Richardson is handling himself as if playing there was his right, so he needs to sit on the bench, even if for a moment, to realize that’s not the case.
Acho claimed that people don’t take privileges for granted, so perhaps he needs to learn that lesson.
Richardson is completing under 45% of his throws, so it’s not like he’s lighting it up out there anyway.
The Colts are still 4-4 despite his erratic play, and it seems like Joe Flacco could give them a better chance to compete, win, and make the playoffs right now.
This team will have to make a tough call, as it’s still too early to give up on Richardson, whose physical upside might be the highest ever.
Then again, he hasn’t given them many reasons to keep him on the field.
