After a lot of speculation during this NFL offseason, the Arizona Cardinals finally parted ways with superstar wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins by releasing the five-time All-Pro after failing to find a trade partner or a trade package they desired.
As of Tuesday, Hopkins is officially a free agent and able to sign with any team in the league, which has sparked much debate and rumors about where his next stint should be in the NFL.
As expected, a few title contenders have been mentioned as potential landing spots for Hopkins, with the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills at the top.
ESPN’s Marcus Spears believes that this should be an easy decision for Hopkins, as he should sign with the Chiefs and go on to win a Super Bowl title via NFL on ESPN.

The Chiefs were one of the teams that engaged the Cardinals in trade talks to acquire Hopkins, so obviously, the interest is there, meaning he may be catching passes from superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the near future.
It’ll be interesting to see if the Chiefs get aggressive and go out of their way to add Hopkins to their roster, creating a scary offense led by Mahomes and Travis Kelce.
However, the Bills are looming as a team that could swoop in and get a deal done with Hopkins after they recently failed to bring in Odell Beckham Jr., who signed with the Baltimore Ravens.
Although it may ultimately be a two-team race for Hopkins, it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that another team gets involved, with some buzz surrounding the Cleveland Browns and his former quarterback Deshaun Watson.
