The Oklahoma City Thunder were down by 29 points during their Thursday night game against the Memphis Grizzlies, and things were looking grim.
But the Thunder were able to rally back in a historic way and walked away with an incredible win.
Following the game, Thunder star Alex Caruso talked about what allowed his team to come back in such a stunning way.
“Our defense is our superpower,” said Thunder reserve guard Alex Caruso, who had all four of his steals in the second half. “When we’re locked in on that side of the ball, we’re an unstoppable force. From there, momentum was on our side. That’s a dangerous thing in the playoffs.”
For the game, Caruso posted 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, four steals, and one block.
He was just one of multiple players who toughened up halfway through the game.
No team has come back like this during the playoffs, which is further proof that this Thunder squad is the real deal and are true contenders for a championship this year.
The Grizzlies are an inferior team, but this sort of resounding comeback is still very impressive and must be taken seriously.
Caruso has been praised for his defensive power for years, and this year he has averaged 1.6 steals per game.
Thursday night was another example of just how fierce he can be on the court.
He’s not the only one, though, because the entire Thunder roster knows how to lock down their opponents.
OKC is ready to win their fourth game and head to the second round of the playoffs.
Just one game stands between them and advancing on their way to the title they so desperately want.
