The ESPYS took place on Wednesday night.
This is an event where major sports awards are given out to athletes who represent their sport and the entire sports world in a positive light.
Several well-deserved honors were handed out to some of the best athletes in the business.
Albert Pujols took home an important award as well.
The St. Louis Cardinals veteran slugger was awarded the Muhammad Ali Sports Humanitarian Award.
This award is given to an athlete who engages in charitable practices in his or her community.
This year, the winner is Pujols, and MLB took to Twitter to congratulate the legend on his accomplishment.

Pujols Earns ESPY Honor
Pujols has always been one to make a difference in his community.
He started the Pujols Family Foundation during his first stint with the Cardinals and has devoted much of his time to helping children with Down Syndrome.
He has been a humanitarian in the St. Louis community and beyond, just as his teammates, Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina have always been.
It’s good to see him win this award in his final big-league season.
Not only has he been an influential figure for the game of baseball on the field, but he has done so off the field as well and has become a true model citizen and a great ambassador for the game of baseball.
Pujols is a well-loved legend who is taking home a very well-deserved honor from the ESPYS.
He’s loved by Cardinals fans in St. Louis but is also loved and respected by so many around the world for his humanitarian efforts and his ability to play the game.
Pujols certainly earned this honor.
