Over the weekend, it was announced that Al Horford had signed a deal with the Golden State Warriors and will be packing his bags and moving from Boston to the Bay Area.
But just because he is leaving the Celtics doesn’t mean he has hard feelings for the team and the fans.
He posted a special message on social media, thanking everyone in Boston for how they treated him and his family.
“From the moment we arrived, you have welcomed my family and I with open arms. This chapter in my career will hold a special place in my heart. Raising banner 18 with this city will be a moment I will always cherish. I am forever grateful for the fans and the organization. Thank you, Boston,” Horford posted on X.

Horford is thanking Boston, and they are thanking him back.
During his seven seasons with the Celtics, he averaged 11.2 points and 6.8 rebounds.
He was a vital part of the team and helped them claim their 18th championship a couple of years ago.
Horford came to the team with plenty of experience and expertise about how to run the frontcourt.
Again and again, he imparted his wisdom to the younger players in the lineup, and he is a big part of why they are so powerful now.
At 39 years old, Horford is surely getting closer to the end of his time in the NBA.
He will be retiring within the next few years, and may do that with the Warriors.
As for the Celtics, losing Horford is just the latest change they have experienced lately.
This has been a busy summer for Boston, and they have parted ways with multiple stars, casting their future in serious doubt.
Losing Horford will hurt, but he will always hold a special place in the hearts of all Celtics fans.
