Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics surprised just about everyone the other day when he was part of a video that featured him on the practice court, seemingly moving with ease.
This comes just months after a very serious Achilles injury.
Being back on the court so soon is astonishing, and all NBA fans were impressed.
Kevin Durant was blown away, too, and he gave Tatum a special shout-out on social media.
“Insane. Let’s get it JT,” Durant posted on X.

Durant knows what it’s like to go through an injury such as this.
He understands how devastating it can be, and how difficult it is to sit on the sidelines as the rest of the team goes on without you.
He also knows that just because Tatum is looking great on a practice court doesn’t mean he’ll be back in games soon.
He will likely miss all of 2025-26, although he says he has his sights set on being back before the end of the season.
A recovery like this cannot be rushed, and doing so would only make matters worse.
The Celtics want Tatum back, but they want him back the right way.
If he has to sit out the entire season, they are okay with that as long as he ultimately does return in good health.
He may not be on the court, but Tatum will remain an important part of the franchise during the new season.
He might be in street clothes, but he will be at many games, rooting for his teammates and counting down the time until he’s back with them.
Durant is loving what he’s seen from Tatum, and he knows they will face off again on the court soon, even if it’s not soon enough.
