In an unsurprising turn of events, the Jacksonville Jaguars chose to part ways with HC Doug Pederson.
Pederson’s time has run its course already, and the fact that he got to finish the season was somewhat surprising.
He didn’t seem to see eye-to-eye with the organization, the players, and – more importantly – Trevor Lawrence anymore.
With that in mind, the Jaguars have submitted formal requests to interview several assistant coaches.
Among the candidates, they targeted offensive coordinators Kellen Moore (Philadelphia Eagles), Todd Monken (Baltimore Ravens), Liam Coen (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Joe Brady (Buffalo Bills), and Ben Johnson (Detroit Lions).
According to Ari Meirov, they will also target defensive coordinators Aaron Glenn (Lions), Patrick Graham (Las Vegas Raiders), and former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh.

Saleh’s tenure with the Jets wasn’t what most people would call successful.
His team did have a solid defense more often than not, but a subpar offense and quarterback play often stood in the way.
However, he did a solid job as the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator, and the Jets were much worse once he was fired.
Saleh boasts a good defensive mind, and the Jaguars have prominent pieces on that end of the field.
Nevertheless, perhaps they would be better off finding someone to help Trevor Lawrence get back on his feet.
He has left plenty of doubts about his potential as a franchise quarterback.
This team needs a lot of help, and it’ll be interesting to see who gets the nod.
