The New York Jets keep making moves.
They already have one of the best defenses in the game, but even great things can get better.
That’s why they’re reportedly engaged in serious talks to sign Jadeveon Clowney.
According to a report by Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, Robert Saleh’s team has been in constant talks with him, and they’re reportedly ‘highly motivated’ to sign him.
He adds that the Carolina Panthers and Baltimore Ravens are also keeping tabs on him following a 9.5-sack season.
Following Jadeveon Clowney’s visit with the #Jets, he and the organization have remained in constant contact, with one source describing New York as “highly motivated” to try and secure a deal with Clowney.
I’m told both the #Panthers and #Ravens remain interested in him as… pic.twitter.com/dqE67JIPJg

It’s safe to say that Clowney has failed to live up to the hype that comes with being the No. 1 pick, especially considering the fact he drew comparisons to legends like Lawrence Taylor before entering the league.
Then again, he’s been quite dependable over the past two years or so, and he’s a perennial threat off of the edge.
The Jets have added several pieces in the offseason, most of them veteran players.
Their pass rush department has been solid over the past three years or so, but adding a proven guy like Clowney could do wonders for Saleh’s side.
There’s always been a big market for pass rushers, and Clowney is a well-known commodity in this league, so he might only be waiting for the right opportunity to present itself before signing with a new team.
The Jets are about to enter Super Bowl mode with a healthy Aaron Rodgers, so don’t be shocked if they continue adding more pieces around their future Hall of Famer.
