The Miami Dolphins have been actively pursuing an upgrade at the running back position for quite a while now.
That’s why it’s not a surprise to see a report from Barry Jackson (via Dov Kleiman) stating that they’re at least going to explore the possibility of trading for Jonathan Taylor.

The disgruntled star has just been granted permission to seek a trade by the Indianapolis Colts.
He tried to get a contract extension that would make him one of the highest-paid — if not the highest-paid — running backs in the league, but to no avail.
The Colts weren’t interested in meeting his financial demands, and whichever team trades for him will most likely have to sign him to an extension shortly thereafter.
That would make sense for the Dolphins, considering they have the draft assets and the available money, and he’s just 24 years old and two years removed from being the league’s rushing leader.
However, given how the league has treated star running backs as of late, it would be shocking to see him getting as much money as he wants.
Taylor also comes with some baggage and concerns, as he struggled with a high ankle injury for most of last season, and he was sidelined again during training camp because of the same ailment.
The Dolphins are one of the few teams that could realistically make a run at him.
They tried to trade for Dalvin Cook before the Minnesota Vikings released him and then pursued him again as a free agent.
