The 2024 NFL season did not go according to plans for the Tenessee Titans, and they now find themselves with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
They’ll have their pick of the litter in April, hoping to find the right player to help their organization take a step in the right direction, giving some hope to the future of the franchise.
Many people have suggested that the team will start over at QB, effectively ending the Will Levis experiment.
While this certainly might make sense for the Titans, they’ll want to weigh all of their options, and with a new GM, it’s hard to know what they’re thinking.
The Titans’ president of football operations, Chad Brinker, told reporters in a press conference that the team is not going to pass on a “generational talent with the first pick in the NFL Draft,” a statement that caused speculation across the league.
Adam Schefter was asked about who he thought this player could be in a recent appearance on the “WEEI Afternoons” show, saying, “defensive lineman from Penn State or the wide receiver/cornerback in Colorado.”

Schefter is referring to Abdul Carter and Travis Hunter, two of the top five prospects in the 2025 draft, according to most analysts.
Carter is one of the most impressive edge-rusher prospects from the past decade, and Hunter is a rare example of a two-way player who played nearly every snap for Colorado in college.
He’ll likely have to decide on a full-time position in the NFL, but his athleticism and football IQ are appealing to professional teams.
Will his or Carter’s collegiate performances be enough of a sample size for the Titans to take either one with the first pick?
