The Green Bay Packers’ relationship with Aaron Jones came to a rocky conclusion.
The star running back had been a stalwart for seven years with the organization, and he’ll now play for their lifelong divisional rivals, the Minnesota Vikings.
It’s easy to understand Jones’ motivation to face his former team twice a year, all things considered.
A report by Rob Demovsky of ESPN stated that the Packers tried to get Jones to agree to a significant pay cut, which he didn’t.
That’s why they pivoted from their decision not to pursue a big-name running back and turned to Josh Jacobs.
Notably, Jones believes there’s more to the story than what Demovsky reported, and he took to Twitter to state that every story has ‘three sides to it.’

Whatever the case, the Packers didn’t do right by him.
Trying to get him to take such a huge pay cut and then replacing him with another star running back was a big blow, thus it made sense for the Vikings to try and make the most of this opportunity.
Then again, Jacobs is three years younger, and the Packers structured his deal in a way that they could move on from him if need be.
Free agency is a yearly reminder of how much of a ruthless business this is.
Jones will leave Lambeau Field as a fan favorite and one of the best running backs in franchise history, but it seems like all bridges between both sides have officially been burnt for good.
