All eyes were on the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night.
Fans throughout the league wanted to see what the team could do in the wake of the explosive trade that sent Kyrie Irving away.
The Nets are still lacking Kevin Durant because of injury so many wondered if there was any chance of a win against the Los Angeles Clippers.
Cam Thomas just recorded back-to-back 40-point games 🔥

The answer was a resounding yes, as the Nets took down the Clippers, 124-116, mostly due to the hard work of Cam Thomas.
Thomas was an absolute monster for his team, scoring 47 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists, and 7 three-pointers.
That means that Thomas recorded back-to-back 40-point games.
The list of players who have done that this season is small, consisting of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Devin Booker, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, LeBron James, and Damian Lillard.
As you can see, Thomas joins elite company.
This was a much-needed win for the Nets.
The team has dealt with nightmare after nightmare this season, from injuries to off-court controversies to firings and more.
The loss of Irving was just the latest headache for Brooklyn.
Despite the big night from Thomas, no one is quite sure what’s next for the Nets.
Recent reports have said they will do whatever it takes to retain Durant and keep him happy, building a team around him.
That will require a lot of work and a lot of trades too.
So, we might see a few more additions to the team within the next 48 hours.
But you can be sure that Thomas isn’t going anywhere, especially after Monday night.
If the front office really wants to assemble a strong roster around Durant, Thomas needs to be a part of it.
