Just a few weeks ago, the future was looking very bright for Cam Thomas of the Brooklyn Nets.
Following the departures of both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, Thomas came to life in a big way and seemed like he could lead the team.
In fact, he had three consecutive games where he scored more than 40 points.
Thomas was flying high and gaining a lot of attention.
Since then, he has come back down to Earth.
As noted by NBACentral, Thomas has played for seven minutes twice over the last three games and then sat out of Tuesday’s game entirely.

During those three historic games in February, Thomas scored a combined 134 points.
Since then, he has earned 125 points in total.
What does this mean for Thomas and his future with the team?
Right now, it looks like head coach Jacque Vaughn has lost interest in devoting much time to Thomas.
Does this mean he will be traded away in the near future?
The Nets are still in contention for the playoffs.
Even without Irving and Durant, they are still the sixth team in the East and will likely make the postseason.
So, how will Thomas be a part of any playoff run?
The problem is that he hasn’t done much with the few minutes he has been given.
He scored 0 points in one seven-minute run and just 4 in another.
How will he be able to hit 40 points again if he can’t convince Vaughn and the coaching staff to give him another chance?
The Nets have many things to think about in the summer and their relationship with Thomas will be one of them.
