The plot of the soap opera that has seemingly surrounded the Miami Dolphins this season has thickened.
A team that once felt destined for a playoff berth now finds itself in a do-or-die situation this week, as they are in desperate need of a win to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Their quarterback situation which was once solid under the guidance of Tua Tagovailoa is now crumbling at the foundation.
Tests for #Dolphins QB Teddy Bridgewater revealed a pinky finger on his throwing hand that was dislocated, but not broken, source said. Whether he can play this week will come down to swelling and if he can grip the ball well enough to throw.

Teddy Bridgewater, who has started two games for the Dolphins this season, has suffered a dislocated pinky finger on his throwing hand.
This is just the icing on the cake for the Dolphins, who have been plagued by injury throughout the year.
If Bridgewater is unable to go on Sunday against the New York Jets, the Dolphins may have to turn to rookie Skylar Thompson, or recently signed Mike Glennon.
Thompson has made six separate appearances this season, ending up with a stat line of a 54.1% completion rate, 382 yards, one touchdown pass, and three interceptions.
Glennon, on the other hand, was signed by the Dolphins this morning, and will likely serve as Thompson’s backup this week.
Glennon has quite a bit more NFL experience than Thompson, starting 31 games in the nine seasons that he has been in the league.
Will the Dolphins trust either Thompson or Glennon to try and lead their team to the playoffs in a must-win game this week?
Or, will it be a combination approach, especially if Thompson struggles early?
Tune-in on Sunday to see what the Dolphins decide to do.
