The New York Jets are inching closer to finding their guy.
Firing Robert Saleh was a decision that was easy to understand, but it didn’t do much to help their case.
If anything, their defense plummeted almost immediately after he was let go.
The Jets continue to have strong defensive personnel and be a defensive-minded team.
As such, it’s unsurprising that they have a defensive-oriented head coach in mind.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN (via Paul Andrew Esden Jr.), the Jets currently have Aaron Glenn at the top of their list.
ESPN’s Rich Cimini has labeled Aaron Glenn as the ‘front runner’ in the #Jets HC sweepstakes based on the latest buzz but admitted we haven’t started the second round of interviews yet ‘so anything can happen.’ ?@DanGraca & Rich also talked about what Jets fans should be… pic.twitter.com/2uEXIw7P8S

Nevertheless, Cimini’s report also states that the team has yet to complete the second round of interviews, so anything could still happen.
Glenn did an outstanding job with the Detroit Lions for the most part.
As a former player, he also knows how to connect with the locker room.
Glenn and the Lions’ defense didn’t look good against Jayden Daniels in the NFC Divisional Game.
But, to be fair, no defense has looked good against the LSU star rookie this season.
The Jets have a lot to figure out, and whoever takes over the team will be hard-pressed to deliver almost immediately.
They will reportedly be hunting for a quarterback again and could look to part ways with Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams.
Glenn has earned his stripes and an opportunity to lead his own team, but this won’t be an easy challenge.
