This season’s Rookie of the Year race has already been a hot one, and it’s sure to be more competitive as 2024-25 goes on.
For a while, it looked like Jared McCain of the Philadelphia 76ers would be named this season’s best rookie but things have changed.
Following McCain’s recent injury, Polymarket says that Stephon Castle of the San Antonio Spurs is the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year, according to Legion Hoops.
With 37.8 percent of bets, Castle is ahead of Dalton Knecht with 20 percent, Zaccharie Risacher with 10 percent, and McCain, who still has seven percent.

Castle has had a very strong opening year with the Spurs, scoring 11.7 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 3.9 assists.
On a team filled with thrilling up-and-coming stars, Castle is one of the brightest.
Although the Spurs are still a troubled team, fans are excited for the future for many reasons, including Castle.
Castle might be in the lead right now, but there is still plenty of season left, and a different rookie could end up taking this prize.
Knecht of the Los Angeles Lakers is definitely someone to watch, as he has been averaging 10.6 points per game.
There were some negative comments about this rookie class when they were drafted back in June, with certain analysts saying they were going to come up short and not make a big impact on the league.
While it is true that some rookies haven’t delivered, others like Castle have.
But can he keep it up and prevent other rookies from sneaking up behind him and winning this coveted end-of-season award?
