All NBA fans know that we are nearing the end of Chris Paul’s basketball career, but now the 12-time All-Star is opening up about when his retirement is.
In a conversation with Tony Parker, Paul revealed that he thinks he will play for a year or two more before hanging up his jersey for good.
In the interview, shared by CP3REGION and NBACentral, Paul also spoke about why he chose to play with the San Antonio Spurs, a team that is going through a rebuilding phase and is far from winning a championship.

Paul said it all came down to his love of playing.
He is far from his family and the people he loves and he wants to dedicate himself to a team 100%, regardless of their chances of claiming a title.
If Paul really does plan to stop playing within the next few years, it seems unlikely he will ever earn a championship ring.
Unless something remarkable happens, the Spurs will still be a work in progress when he steps away from the game.
But that doesn’t mean these last few years of his career won’t be exciting and successful.
Paul is still averaging 10.2 points and 8.5 assists per game and is able to work alongside Victor Wembanyama, whom many consider the future of the NBA.
Over his 19 years in the league, he has accomplished so much, from his five assist championships to his Rookie of the Year trophy to his six steal championships.
Paul will be known for his superior basketball IQ and his impact on every team he played for.
He still has a few years left in him, and it seems clear that Paul will love every single second of playing, no matter if he wins a championship or not.
