On Monday night, the Cincinnati Bengals were hoping to secure their first win of the season against the Washington Commanders after suffering consecutive losses to the New England Patriots and Kansas City Chiefs to start the 2024 campaign.
The Bengals were the favorites to win on their home field of Paycor Stadium against the Commanders, who are trying to right the ship in the nation’s capital with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
Although the Bengals were firing on all cylinders on the offensive side of the football, with superstar quarterback Joe Burrow throwing for 324 yards and three touchdowns, Cincinnati’s defense let the team down, as they couldn’t do anything to stop Daniels and company from seemingly scoring at will.
With the Bengals falling to the Commanders in Week 3, Cincinnati is now sitting at 0-3 to start the season, and things might’ve gotten worse heading into Week 4, with some notable names on the injury report ahead of their matchup against the Carolina Panthers, according to Mike Petraglia of the Jungle Roar Podcast.

The potential absence of Trey Hendrickson and Trent Brown could really make things difficult for the Bengals in Week 4 against a resurgent Panthers, who made easy work of the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 3.
Even though the Bengals have shown that they can still light up the scoreboard, the fact they can’t stop anyone defensively could be the team’s downfall this season, which is a shame, considering Burrow’s return under center and looking like he’s back to form.
