The San Francisco 49ers and star DE Nick Bosa have spent the past couple of months talking about an imminent contract extension and how they’re not worried about getting a deal done.
However, training camp is already underway, and the Ohio State product is nowhere to be found, sounding the alarm among the fan base.
Nonetheless, GM John Lynch doesn’t want people to get too carried away with that, stating that they’ll continue to have that mix of urgency and patience to get a deal done (via Our SF 49ers).
#49ers GM John Lynch is confident Nick Bosa's contract extension will get worked out.
“We’re just going to have to have that right mix of urgency and patience.”

Lynch claims he’s not concerned at all despite Bosa’s holdout.
The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year is expected to sign the most lucrative contract by a defensive player in the history of the league, and there might be just some minor details and tweaks to get past.
He’s entering the fifth and final year of his rookie deal and coming off an outstanding campaign with 18.5 sacks (league-best), 58 quarterback pressures, 51 tackles, and two forced fumbles.
Now, he’s expected to get way more than the $31.67 million Los Angeles Rams DT Aaron Donald is getting, as well as more than the $80 guaranteed million T.J. Watt got.
It’s worth noting that Bosa did show up for the mandatory minicamp and has always sounded optimistic and willing to play ball in regard to an impending deal.
He’s now giving up as much as $40,000 a day for not showing up to practice, although the CBA allows first-round draft picks entering their fifth year to have their fines waived once they reach an agreement with their teams.
The Niners made it clear that they do intend to waive those fines once the situation gets settled, so it’s just a matter of time before we see him back on the field.
