Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is having himself an MVP season.
While he’s finding success without star receiver Tyreek Hill, getting him another receiver doesn’t hurt.
With Odell Beckham Jr. still a free agent, it’s possible the Chiefs could sign him.
However, some might question the signing of Beckham, as Mahomes is doing great without him.
But there are three reasons the Chiefs need to sign Beckham.
3. OBJ Can Take Heat Off Kelce
Playing against the Chiefs and their offense means you must cover Travis Kelce.
All the talk about what the Chiefs would do without Tyreek Hill we all forgot that Travis Kelce has been their number one receiver all along

With him being a top target for Mahomes, he needs someone to take the heat off Kelce.
Beckham can do this and leave Kelce open to more one-on-one targets.
2. With Smith-Schuster Injury, KC Needs OBJ
Outside of Kelce, Mahomes had JuJu Smith-Schuster.
However, with Smith-Schuster suffering a concussion, the Chiefs can use the help of Beckham.
While his concussion won’t keep him out long, it’s how he will recover that makes a difference.
Having OBJ gives Mahomes someone else, in case Smith-Schuster can’t return to normal this season.
1. OBJ Gives Mahomes A Veteran Receiver
Having a veteran receiver is always a plus for any NFL team.
With Beckham having tons of experience, it gives Mahomes a reliable target.
While he has his best connects with his tight-end, having another veteran target is helpful.
He knows how to get separation and give Mahomes an open target.
Signing him can easily increase the team’s chances at making the Super Bowl.
