The New Orleans Pelicans shut down the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night with a commanding 130-108 win against Kevin Durant and his group of playoff hopefuls.
Quite a few stars on New Orleans’ roster did amazing work, like Brandon Ingram who is becoming more and more of a superstar.
But the team’s biggest player, Zion Williamson, made a huge impact and reminded the world about the sort of NBA phenomenon he is.

Williamson scored 25 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 steals during his first NBA game in more than a year.
Some people were worried that it could take time for Williamson to get back in prime form on the floor considering he’s been on the bench for so long.
But that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Still, Williamson is aiming for even more after this terrific opening night game.
Williamson Wanting More
How did Williamson grade his first game back in the NBA?
He told the press that there was still “a lot of room for improvement.”
He referred to Wednesday night as a “decent starter performance.”
If that was decent, you can only imagine was a really good night will be for Williamson.
The fact that the Pelicans were able to easily take down the Nets says a lot.
Even with all their problems, the Nets still have two of the best stars in the league and yet they weren’t able to slow down Williamson and his group of committed players.
Williamson was 11-of-22 from the field and all 11 of his baskets came from inside the paint, showing that he is sometimes unstoppable in the low post even when guarded by multiple people.
This was Williamson’s first game since May 4, 2021, and it looks like he has returned bigger, better, stronger, and ready to pick up where he left off.
