The New York Jets‘ season began with an injury to their highly-regarded quarterback.
Aaron Rodgers went down a few moments into this contest and is now expected to miss time due to an injury.
Zach Wilson was immediately called upon in his absence, hoping to lead the team to victory.
After the game, Wilson sent public condolences to Rodgers in a press conference, saying, “My heart goes out to him. It’s tough. It hurts us as a team.”

However, as shared via Pro Football Talk, Wilson recognized his role in this organization.
“I’ve got to be as efficient as I can in that offense,” Wilson said.
When filling in for Rodgers in this game, Wilson completed 66% of his passes, throwing for 140 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
He did enough for the Jets to win the game, but many fans wonder what’s next for Wilson and this offense.
While he was a first-round draft pick, there is a reason the Jets brought Rodgers in to be their starter.
Wilson wasn’t getting the job done in his first two years in the league and was slated to sit behind Rodgers to grow and develop.
Assuming the Jets do not make any additional moves, he will now be thrust into the starting role, hoping to do what the team set out to do under Rodgers.
The Jets have the NFL’s longest active playoff drought, something many analysts believed Rodgers would help them out of.
Can Wilson take what he learned in the offseason and turn the Jets into a playoff team?
