The Cincinnati Reds have become one of the most electric teams in baseball.
Not many people thought they could contend for a NL Central crown this year but that is what they are doing.
The Reds have a 38-35 record and are in first place in the Central.
The play of their young stars is what continues to make them go.
One player that everyone is enamored by is shortstop Elly De La Cruz.
He was the third-ranked prospect in baseball and the Reds called him up earlier this month.
De La Cruz has been nothing short of amazing since making his MLB debut.
Even NFL star Patrick Mahomes wanted to get some signed memorabilia from De La Cruz.
According to MLB Life, Mahomes asked De La Cruz for a signed bat and ball, and he signed the bat “fastest man in the world.”

De La Cruz has only played 12 MLB games but his impact has been felt in all of them.
He has stolen six bases in those games and has beaten out numerous infield hits.
After one of his first few games, he coined himself the “fastest man in the world.”
That is quite a bold statement but he has been the fastest man in MLB since his arrival.
According to Statcast, De La Cruz has the fastest sprint speed at 30.9 feet/second.
De La Cruz is a once-in-a-generation player who is a five-tool superstar.
Expect to see him making amazing plays with his legs on a nightly basis.
