Recently, the Chicago Cubs promoted outfielder Christopher Morel from Triple-A Iowa to provide a spark in their lineup.
Morel had a solid season in 2022, hitting .235 with 16 home runs, 47 RBI, and a .741 OPS.
The 23-year-old had been in the minors for a while before being promoted again.
And since his return, Morel has been swinging a hot bat for the Cubs.
Through his first six games since being called up, he has posted some very impressive numbers.
Morel is 9-for-26 with a .346 batting average, four home runs, nine RBI, and an OPS of 1.192.
MLB Network posted a tweet featuring some of Morel’s numbers since being called back up.

Morel is a key piece for the future of the youthful Cubs.
The 23-year-old has been hitting quite well for the Cubs this season.
In 30 at-bats, he’s hitting .333 with an on-base percentage of .333, a slugging percentage of .800, and an OPS of 1.133.
Morel made an impact last season and now has a chance to help a young Cubs team take the next step towards contention for the first time since 2020.
The Cubs have not reached the postseason since then.
That year, they won the NL Central with the COVID-shortened schedule.
This year, they are looking to get back on track.
Having Morel in their lineup has helped the team thus far, despite their early struggles.
Chicago is 19-23 and sits five games out of first place in the NL Central.
But Morel’s return has given them a bit of a boost as they look to get back on track.
