The New York Yankees have had a season to forget thus far.
As August rolls along, the Yankees find themselves in last place in the American League East and 5.5 games back of the final Wild Card spot.
They also enter Tuesday’s tilt with the Atlanta Braves just one game over the .500 mark.
However, rookie shortstop Anthony Volpe has been producing quite well lately.
Earlier in the year, he was forced to make a change to his batting stance, as he had posted some ugly numbers at the plate.
However, a Yankees fan page posted some stats on Twitter that show just how much he has improved since making this very important change.
Anthony Volpe's numbers before and after his batting stance change:
wRC+: 66 -> 119
OPS: .605 -> .792
K%: 30.8% -> 23.0%
BB%: 8.8% -> 10.5%
Line Drive%: 18.9% -> 26.0%It's been 52 games since the Chicken Parm Dinner, and the results are hard to ignore. #NYY pic.twitter.com/8wy2GVIk4R

Volpe has posted a 119 wRC+ since the change.
He had posted a wRC+ of just 66 beforehand.
The young shortstop also has an OPS of .792, a strikeout percentage of just 23, a walk-rate of 10.5 percent, and a line drive rate of 26 percent.
Before the change, Volpe had a dismal OPS of .605, a strikeout rate of 30.8 percent, a walk-rate of just 8.8 percent, and a line drive rate of only 18.9 percent.
Needless to say, it is very evident that this change really helped Volpe make some key improvements at the plate.
Volpe made the Yankees Opening Day roster out of spring training and got off to a bad start, but has since come into his own as a hitter and made some key adjustments.
Unfortunately, the Yankees offense has been a letdown this year, but Volpe is currently a bright spot in this mess.
