The New York Yankees‘ Triple-A lineup is actually not bad at all.
In fact, they would give some MLB franchises a run for their money.
Right now, the unit has several former top prospects, some talented young players, and even a former Gold Glove award winner.
A Yankees reporter, Eli Fishman (who is known for his extensive and quality work covering Yankees’ prospects), pointed out that the Scranton Wilkes-Barre lineup would be a sensation five years ago.
“The Scranton RailRiders 2022 lineup consists of Greg Bird, Ender Inciarte, Miguel Andujar, and Estevan Florial with Manny Banuelos as the top starter. Imagine me telling you that in 2017,” he tweeted.

A Talented Group
Bird was once a high-OBP slugger in the Yankees’ system, and was actually a fixture in their 2017 lineup during that year’s playoff run.
Inciarte won a Fielding Bible award in 2015 and three straight Gold Glove awards from 2016 to 2018, when he was with the Atlanta Braves.
Andujar was the runner-up in the 2018 American League Rookie of the Year race, behind Shohei Ohtani, and hit 76 extra-base hits that year.
Florial led the Yankees’ prospect lists for years in the mid-2010s, and is still expected to have some sort of future role with the Bombers.
Banuelos’ career wasn’t as good as he probably expected, but he was a hot prospect back in the day, too.
It’s a pretty talented group, and they are all playing together in Triple-A in 2022.
Baseball is full of twists and unexpected turns.
They are now depth pieces for the organization, but their careers were once extremely promising.
The lineup, and roster in general, has many more talented prospects and role players that make it very strong.
