The 56-21 New York Yankees remain the best team in baseball by record and the eye test.
They are coming off a wonderful June that saw them finish with a 22-6 record.
Even though they have played most of their games at home, the Yankees have shown they are quite the road warriors in 2022.
They will start a tough weekend series against the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field, against a team that has the walk-off magic working this week.
Still, the Yankees have been extremely competitive away from home, according to MLB.com beat writer Bryan Hoch.
“The Yankees look to avoid losing consecutive road games for just the second time in 2022 (May 28-29, at TB). New York’s 22-12 road record is the best in the major leagues,” Hoch wrote via Twitter.

They lost on Thursday against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park, in a hotly contested matchup with a fellow top team in the American League.
If they lose tonight, it would only be the second time in 2022 in which the Yanks drop two straight away games.
That speaks loud about the team’s ability to win games on the road.
It’s not easy to have a winning record away from home in MLB, yet the Yankees are acing that test.
It’s actually one of the reasons why they have been so dependable and trustworthy this year: they can win whenever, wherever, and in several ways: dominating from start to finish, walking off the opponent, with a huge rally to turn around a score, and more.
The Astros gave them fits, but the Yankees remain the best team in the American League and will try to prove it in Cleveland, too.
