The New York Yankees will try to stop a four-game losing skid on Tuesday night, when they take the field against the Cleveland Guardians.
The Guards dealt them a painful blow on Monday by stealing a victory from the Yankees’ bag.
New York has had to deal with all kinds of adversity during the 2023 MLB season.
They have one of the largest contingent of players on the injured list.
Three of their starters (Carlos Rodon, Luis Severino, and Frankie Montas) and their two most productive sluggers (Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton) are currently out with injuries, not to mention several impact relievers and other regulars.
In the middle of the chaos, they are getting at least a ray of hope, a small bit of positive news.

To stop the slide, there might not be a better pitcher to send to the mound than Gerrit Cole, one of the few Yankees having a truly great season.
However, the best news of the day is the return of Harrison Bader to the active roster.
Not only is he on the roster, he is also the fifth hitter in the lineup for Tuesday night.
Of course, that speaks louder about the Yankees’ lack of punch in the lineup rather than Bader’s ability and potential.
The center fielder is a competent hitter, but his best attribute is his defense.
Fans, of course, are thankful that he is back with the team.

Crying tears of joy, welcome back Bader

If anything, Bader will supply league-average offense and a difference-making glove that will help the team as a whole.
