David Cone was once one of the game’s most prolific starting pitchers.
The right-hander put together a solid career, winning five World Series rings plus a Cy Young and earning five All-Star selections.
Over 18 seasons, Cone spent time with the Kansas City Royals, New York Mets, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, and Boston Red Sox.
One of his most memorable moments came in 1999 while he was with the Yankees.
On July 18 of that year, the veteran right-hander and Yankees great threw a perfect game.
That day was “Yogi Berra Day” at the ballpark, and Hall-of-Famer Don Larsen, famous for his perfect game in the 1956 World Series, was in attendance.
Today happens to be Cone’s 60th birthday.
On Twitter, a Yankees fan posted a video of the final out and wished Cone a happy birthday.
