The New York Yankees accomplished their biggest offseason goal last week, re-signing American League MVP Aaron Judge to a nine-year, $360 million contract.
But there is more to be done for the Bronx Bombers.
The team is said to be one of many who have inquired about left-hander Carlos Rodon.
The 30-year-old had had a solid first season with the San Francisco Giants, winning 14 games and posting an ERA of 2.88 in 31 starts and 178 innings of work.
But with starting pitching at a premium, the demand is high.
On Twitter, one Yankees fan called for the team to close the deal and sign Rodon, which would effectively put an end to a tired narrative.
The Yankees should simply close the Rodón deal today not just to get a good pitcher but to also slow down the “Yankees aren’t doing anything but bringing the same team back” narrative. I’m sure someone will complain about the offense next but at least one story will end.

Yankees Fan Demands Change
In recent years, Yankees fans have felt as if the front office hasn’t done anything besides bring back the same team from the previous year.
Signing Rodon would be a nice departure from that narrative.
New York needs an ace as well.
While they do have Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes, and Frankie Montas, as well as Luis Severino, the team traded away left-hander Jordan Montgomery at the trade deadline and recently lost right-hander Jameson Taillon, who signed with the Chicago Cubs.
Rodon would give them a chance to potentially challenge the Houston Astros for American League supremacy.
It also might be the splash they need to make from outside of the organization to become a true World Series contender again.
The Yankees were swept in the ALCS by the Astros, who ultimately went on to win the World Series for the second time in franchise history.
