The Seattle Mariners added Teoscar Hernandez to their lineup.
Even the Chicago White Sox added pitcher Mike Clevinger.
They need to re-sign reigning AL MVP Aaron Judge, which is actually the absolute priority of the offseason.
However, even if they get Judge’s signature, more is needed to challenge the Astros and the rest of the American League’s contenders.
“The Yankees again cannot just sign Benintendi Judge and call it an offseason. You HAVE to make a massive splash move,” MLB writer Ryan Garcia tweeted.

The Yankees Have Resources To Bring In Top-End Talent
The Yankees are one of MLB’s most powerful and richest franchises: they have the financial means to bring Judge back and make another major move.
Fortunately for them, they have the chance to do something great: they can sign one of the big free agent shortstops (Carlos Correa, Trea Turner, Xander Bogaerts or Dansby Swanson), a top pitcher like Justin Verlander or Carlos Rodon, or even an outfielder like Brandon Nimmo.
They can also go to the trade market and bring in, say, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Bryan Reynolds.
They can do that, but it remains to be seen if they actually want to do that.
Bringing back Benintendi and Judge would mean fielding the same roster as last year, and that squad was swept by the Astros.
They need more than just re-signing their own guys.NEXT: Nestor Cortes Is Taking On A Fun New National Role
