After missing the entire 2021-22 NBA season and playing only 29 games last season, the clock is ticking for superstar forward Zion Williamson to prove his worth to the New Orleans Pelicans because the team might not stand for another shortened season.
When healthy, Williamson is arguably one of the best players in the league and is mentioned in the same breath as some of the elites at the forward position, but he just hasn’t been able to stay healthy, leading many to wonder if he’ll ever live up to expectations at the NBA level.
Fortunately for New Orleans, Williamson has helped lead the Pelicans to wins in their first two games by taking down the Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks in convincing fashion.
During these games, Williamson has been as advertised, showing his incredible athleticism and inability to be guarded when fully engaged, which WNBA legend Candace Parker believes is a skill that cannot be taught, via NBA TV.

Williamson is getting all of his work done in the paint this season, and that’s a good sign for the Pelicans, even though they’d likely want him to develop a consistent three-point shot at some point.
The former Duke superstar bulldozes his way to the rim every single time he gets the ball, and there’s not a player in this league that has shown to be a Williamson stopper at this point, as he’s almost a guaranteed bucket when he puts his head down and gets to the basket.
Williamson has been so consistent with that style that he’s looking like LeBron James out there, but a bigger and stronger version, which is a scary sight for the rest of the league.
