The Washington Wizards will head into the 2023-24 NBA season as a team with some low expectations after two of the team’s best players left the squad in trades during the offseason.
Arguably one of the best players in franchise history, Bradley Beal, was shipped to the Phoenix Suns to join forces with fellow stars Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, while veteran forward Kristaps Porzingis was traded to the Boston Celtics to play alongside Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and now Jrue Holiday.
Needless to say, the Wizards have undergone some drastic changes and won’t be expected to do much of anything during the upcoming season, but that hasn’t stopped the recently re-signed Kyle Kuzma from seeking advice on how to be a better leader.
According to Chase Hughes of Monumental Sports Network, Kuzma reached out to New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter for some advice on leadership via Legion Hoops.

Kuzma will likely be the leader of this Wizards team moving forward, as he has championship experience and might have what it takes to be a No. 1 on a team like Washington.
Along with signing Kuzma to a lucrative long-term contract, the Wizards also brought in Jordan Poole, formerly of the Golden State Warriors, and former Memphis Grizzlies guard Tyus Jones, two players that have made names for themselves over the past couple of years.
Even though the Wizards have some talent at the top, Kuzma and company will likely go through a rough year this season with all the upgrades in the Eastern Conference, with the team not all that talented outside of their top three players.
