The Major League Baseball offseason is progressing as more and more players from the free agent class are signing with new teams.
While the biggest free agent, Juan Soto of the New York Yankees, remains unsigned, there are plenty of rumors surrounding other big-name players.
Likely, many of them won’t sign until Soto makes his decision, but Milwaukee Brewers shortstop Willy Adames reportedly is gaining interest from some American League teams.
“Jon Morosi connects free agent infielder Willy Adames to the Yankees, [Houston] Astros and [Boston] Red Sox,” MLB Network wrote on X.

Adames is one of a few players who has said he is willing to switch positions if offered the right deal with an organization.
According to Morosi, the shortstop could potentially play second base for the Yankees or play third base for the Astros.
Adames debuted in 2018 with the Tampa Bay Rays and has played seven MLB seasons.
In 2024, Adames played 161 games for the Brewers and batted .251 with 32 home runs, 112 RBIs and a .794 OPS.
He reached a career-high in both home runs and RBIs and could boost the offense of a contending team in 2025.
It will likely take Soto signing before an Adames deal takes place, but if the Yankees miss out on keeping their star outfielder they could be interested in pairing Adames with Anthony Volpe in the middle infield.
This offseason has already provided fans with plenty of twists and turns, and there will likely be plenty more to come before the start of the 2025 campaign.
