Willson Contreras spent the first seven seasons of his MLB career with the Chicago Cubs.
Last offseason, he joined the rival St. Louis Cardinals on a five-year, $87.5 million contract.
The Cardinals made their first visit of the season to Wrigley Field on Monday night, and Contreras got to experience a special homecoming.
After a tribute video was played and pleasantries were exchanged, cheers turned into boos.
However, Contreras fed off of it and helped lead the Cardinals to a 3-1 win over the rival Cubs.
The veteran catcher, now serving as a designated hitter, drove in the winning run in the top of the sixth.
On Twitter, the Cardinals posted a video of that hit, which included more boos from Cubs fans.

Just as he had after his first hit, Contreras welcomed the boos from the Wrigley Field crowd, and motioned for them to continue booing him.
Cubs fans did just that.
In the end, it led to an important win for the Cardinals, who still sit at 12-24, but have now won back-to-back games for the first time since April 11-12 at Coors Field and have finally picked up a series-opening victory.
It was Contreras who led the way for St. Louis, feeding off of the boos from Cubs fans and giving the Cardinals a much-needed win.
The Cardinals will try to secure their first series win since their April matchup with the Colorado Rockies as they send Jack Flaherty to the mound on Tuesday against veteran right-hander Jameson Taillon.
