The 2021 NBA champions are the Milwaukee Bucks.
This is the first time that the organization has won a title since 1971.

This was somewhat unexpected.
All season long, we heard that the Finals were going to be the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Brooklyn Nets.
Other teams were looked at as contenders.
We thought the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers had a shot as well.
However, the Bucks are the ones standing on top.
This is a small-market team that had to construct their roster the hard way.
Now the question is if the Bucks are going to stay as one of the prohibitive favorites now.
The answer should be obvious.
Yes.
The Bucks are going to be a top team for the future and it should not be a doubt in anyone’s mind.
Giannis Is Only 26
The Finals MVP for this series was a unanimous decision.
Giannis Antetokounmpo was the recipient and deservingly so.
We have rarely seen someone perform the way Antetokounmpo did in this Finals.
This title and Finals MVP goes on what it is a phenomenal resume for an NBA player.
His resume is already up there with some of the greats of the modern NBA.
The craziest part is that he is only 26 years old.
Giannis has done it all and he’s only 26 ?

He is in the middle of a long prime for a potential all-time player.
The Bucks have him for the next several years, and maybe even for the rest of his career.
They are going to build around one of the best players in the league for the next decade, potentially.
He is a superstar that can go head-to-head with any other top guy.
The Bucks have an advantage that not a lot of teams have; a superstar who we know is staying.
The Bucks Organization Is Legit
Out of the four biggest team-oriented professional sports leagues; the NBA is the hardest for a small market.
Big-market teams tend to win the title more times than not.
However, the Bucks are NBA champions, while being a small-market organization.
They have proven that they can build a contender and gain the trust of a superstar talent.
The Bucks drafted & developed Giannis. Then they built a stadium and team around him that convinced him to stay. Now they’ve won a title. That’s a great example for any franchise in any sport.

Antetokounmpo chose to stay for the long-term and was rewarded with a championship.
They went all in by trading for Jrue Holiday.
We have seen superstars lose their love for the organization after years trying to win with them.
There was Anthony Davis and James Harden in recent memory to have this issue with their old franchises.
The newest example is Damian Lillard, who does not know if the Portland Trail Blazers can build a contender around him.
Antetokounmpo knows that answer now.
This franchise tried their best to keep him happy, while doing what is best for the team.
The Bucks deserve all of this success.
They can now convince stars, or very good role players, to want to come and join this championship team.
Do not be shocked to the see this organization as one of the contenders for the foreseeable future.
