It has been a nightmare start to the 2023 season for the Chicago White Sox.
The South Siders put together a solid team on paper in the offseason, signing impact players like Andrew Benintendi and Mike Clevinger to supplement the talent already on the roster.
However, things haven’t gone according to plan early in the 2023 season.
The White Sox are 10-21 while owning the third-worst record in the American League.
But on Wednesday, they finally accomplished something important: winning their first series of the season.
And they accomplished this feat against the Minnesota Twins, who are currently leading the AL Central.
On Twitter, MLB on FOX took note of this step forward for the White Sox.

Chicago is now in a position to potentially sweep its AL Central rival.
The White Sox rallied from a 4-3 deficit on Wednesday night to secure their first series win.
With the team sitting at 10-21, it’s no secret that things haven’t gone according to plan on the South Side of Chicago.
But a series win against the AL Central-leading Twins could prove to be a confidence builder for the team, which is something they can use as a springboard to build momentum.
The White Sox finished at .500 last year after two straight years in the postseason.
Under new manager Pedro Grifol, things haven’t clicked so far.
But the team got going early on Wednesday thanks to a three-run homer by Luis Robert Jr.
Tim Anderson and Eloy Jimenez also provided some offense for the team.
In the end, the White Sox held on and picked up an important win to secure their first series victory.
