The Chicago White Sox have already been hit with some adversity to start the 2022 regular season.
In addition to losing Lance Lynn due to a torn meniscus, the White Sox are now going to be without two additional key players.
Starter Lucas Giolito had left his Opening Day start on Friday against the Detroit Tigers due to an abdominal strain.
Today, he was officially placed on the injured list.
Newly acquired outfielder AJ Pollock has also landed on the injured list with a strained right hamstring.
In corresponding moves, the White Sox called up pitchers Jimmy Lambert and Anderson Severino from Triple-A Charlotte.

Sox Depth Being Tested
The White Sox entered the 2022 season as the favorites in the American League Central division, but their depth is already being tested just three games into the season.
The team has their home opener today against the Seattle Mariners.
These injuries are all huge setbacks for a team that hopes to repeat as AL Central champs and make a deeper run into the postseason.
But the White Sox did previously sign Johnny Cueto to a minor league deal.
Perhaps at some point he could be used as a pitching reinforcement.
The White Sox may need some more reinforcements soon.
We’ll see how they handle their depth being tested this early in the season.
Every team deals with injuries, but with a key bat and their two pitching aces down early, they’ve been dealt a couple of major setbacks.
Today’s home opener against the Seattle Mariners begins a three-game series that will last until Thursday.
