After the title defense came to an end for the Golden State Warriors during the NBA playoffs, with the storied franchise losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in the second round, the team headed into the offseason with a lot of uncertainty.
Although the team saw longtime general manager Bob Myers walk this summer and be replaced by Mike Dunleavy Jr., the Warriors didn’t miss a beat, with the franchise making a trade with the Washington Wizards.
The Warriors sent guard Jordan Poole to the nation’s capital in exchange for veteran point guard Chris Paul, who had recently been traded to the team by the Phoenix Suns in the blockbuster deal involving Bradley Beal.
With Paul now in the fold in the Bay Area, along with Draymond Green re-signing with the team on a long-term contract, Golden State hopes to continue its winning ways, with Klay Thompson already back in the gym ahead of training camp via the team’s Twitter account.

The Warriors may have been able to keep their championship window open with the acquisition of Paul and moving on from Poole, but only time will tell how that blockbuster trade works out, as it could easily backfire.
Fortunately for Golden State, the franchise will have its four star players healthy to start the season, and all of them motivated to be a legitimate title contender during the 2023-24 NBA season.
The Warriors will have their fair share of competition in the Western Conference, with the Lakers getting better this summer, the Suns reloading with Beal, and the Denver Nuggets looking to repeat.
