The Golden State Warriors had been relatively silent as the NBA trade deadline inched closer and closer.
But it turns out they are parting ways with a talented first-round draft pick who never reached his potential in the Bay Area.

ESPN has reported that the Warriors are trading James Wiseman to the Detroit Pistons.
In exchange, the Pistons are sending Saddiq Bey to the Atlanta Hawks and the Warriors will receive five second-round picks in return.
This is a big move for both Wiseman and Bey.
Wiseman has been with the Warriors since he was drafted back in 2020-21 but injuries have left him lacking.
During his first season, the big man produced 11.5 points and 5.8 rebounds before injuries took him down.
There was hope that he’d be a major presence in the frontcourt this season but he’s only been making 6.9 points and 3.5 rebounds a game.
After a disappointing start to the year, rumors of Wiseman leaving have run rampant.
He will now be with a much younger, under-the-radar team in Detroit.
As for Bey, he was one of the most powerful players for the Pistons, averaging 14.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game on 40.4% from the field.
He will help the Hawks get even better offensively and will be able to assist them in spacing the floor more.
The Warriors are surely making more moves behind the scenes now that they have traded away Wiseman.
They have never been a huge team and they want to acquire more size now that their seven-foot big man has departed.
They had the highest hopes for Wiseman but things didn’t pan out as planned and they are now moving on.
