The Golden State Warriors are in a bit of a transitional period as they figure out who will lead the team into the future.
Questions have swirled around Jonathan Kuminga, who has been seeking a contract extension with the Warriors but hasn’t received one yet.
However, speaking with 95.7 The Game, Warriors assistant coach Ron Adams said terrific things about Kuminga and his last few games.
“I thought it was his best game ever as a Warrior, and I say that because I thought he played every possession, locked in and with great effort,” Adams said of Kuminga’s performance on Saturday night.

During that game, Kuminga posted 23 points and 6 rebounds, shooting 58.2% from the field and 66.7% from the three-point line.
It really was one of the best performances fans have seen from Kuminga, who is still trying to get another contract from the Warriors.
Recent reports have said the two sides are far apart on any potential deal, which is casting Kuminga’s future with the team in serious doubt.
He wants to remain with the team but it doesn’t sound like the Warriors wish to pay him a lot.
Because of that, Kuminga is seen as one of the most likely trade candidates for the rest of the season.
If he keeps playing like this, Kuminga might convince the Warriors to give him a hefty extension.
Or the team could let him go and he could receive a good deal from another squad that admires what he’s doing right now.
Kuminga is putting up 13.3 points and 3.8 rebounds so far this season and has produced 18.7 points and 4.3 rebounds during his last three games.
He’s been on a roll lately but can he keep it up?
