For weeks now, fans of the Golden State Warriors have been hoping, wishing, and waiting for their team to turn things around and start scoring important wins.
And for weeks now, they have continually been let down.
Therefore, it’s not a surprise to hear that the team’s front office is contemplating some changes before next month’s trade deadline.
However, the size of these changes could be eye-popping for some.
According to Shams Charania, via Evan Sidery, the Warriors “plan to gauge” the trade market for both Andrew Wiggins and Chris Paul.
But it doesn’t stop there, as the report also said that Klay Thompson is a “candidate for Golden State to openly take calls on to see what they could receive in a potential deal.”

As the possibility of trades grew and grew recently, many people assumed that Wiggins and Paul could be on the table.
But the inclusion of Thompson in trade talks is certainly surprising, even with the season he’s had.
He is posting some of the worst numbers of his career but he and others have said that he has earned patience and loyalty from the team, particularly because he has helped them win four championships during his time with Golden State.
There was a time when Thompson was a fundamental and massive part of the team’s DNA but perhaps those times have changed.
If Thompson were to really be on the trade block, there are several teams throughout the league who would jump at the chance to sign him, even with his troubles this year.
Wiggins and Paul will be a harder sell but the Warriors are hoping they can convert them into some win-now talent.
Golden State has an ailing 19-24 record and recently suffered a painful loss at the hands of the Los Angeles Lakers and they will next face the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night.
