Despite finishing with an MLB-best and franchise record 111 wins, the Los Angeles Dodgers are without their ace Walker Buehler.
The star right-hander injured his elbow back in June and it was ultimately determined that Tommy John Surgery would be necessary.
Buehler will miss the postseason and be out through all of the 2023 season.
But that doesn’t mean he can’t make himself useful.
In fact, FOX Sports announced that Buehler will be joining them as a guest analyst during the NLDS.
Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times announced that Buehler’s first assignment would come on Friday for Game 3 of the NLDS.
Fox says Dodgers star Walker Buehler, recovering from Tommy John surgery, will be a guest analyst during NLDS coverage.

Buehler Tries His Hand At Announcing
Buehler isn’t the first current player to try out broadcasting.
Adam Wainwright has joined FOX Sports as a guest analyst for the past two years following the St. Louis Cardinals’ season coming to an end.
But like Wainwright, Buehler should be able to provide some interesting insight into pitching and what it’s like to be a part of a postseason run.
While he recovers from Tommy John Surgery, he’ll at least have something to do.
A player’s insight is always interesting because they have a certain perspective on the game that most announcers simply don’t.
They can speculate on what goes through a pitcher’s head while he’s on the mound, what a hitter’s mindset may be, and what takes place in the dugout and in the clubhouse.
Buehler certainly understands what it’s like and it’ll be interesting to hear his thoughts during postseason games and what his perspective is on being part of a playoff run.
No, we won’t see him pitch, but he won’t be twiddling his thumbs in boredom.
