Russell Westbrook was, is, and will likely always be one of the most polarizing players in the NBA.
And while he’s no longer a solid defender, even his biggest critic can’t argue with the fact that he always competes hard on both ends of the floor, regardless of the stage, the rival, or the situation.
That intensity was again on full display in a now-viral video shared by the Los Angeles Clippers (via Ball Don’t Lie), in which he can be spotted swatting a kid’s shot during a camp.
Russell Westbrook isn’t letting the kids off easy 😂🙅♂️

All jokes aside, that’s actually who Russell Westbrook is: A competitor.
He’ll always give 110%, and that’s why every single one of his former teammates has always had positive things to say about him.
Westbrook is incredibly gifted, and his athleticism is nearly unmatched.
Perhaps, not having a slower drive is ironically the reason why he hasn’t been able to find more success in the playoffs, as sometimes, players need to be more methodical and control the pace and the tempo, as opposed to trying to go at full speed on every single drive.
Still, it seems like he’s been able to add some more years to his career with the way he’s played lately, proving that he’s not a selfish player by embracing a lesser role to come off the bench and even agreeing to sign a $3.8 million deal to be back with the Clippers.
Hopefully, history will put him in his rightful place once it’s all said and done.
