Michael Thomas has only appeared in 10 games over the last three seasons for the New Orleans Saints.
Thomas posted a career season in 2019, breaking the NFL’s single-season record for receptions.
However, after an ankle injury and surgery to repair it, Thomas’ lack of availability has been concerning to fans and analysts alike.
While Thomas’ status is still unknown, the NFL recently shared his video, which showed him deadlifting 575 pounds.

If Thomas is able to move this sort of weight around in June, this could be a good sign for him moving forward.
However, running and cutting around the football field is significantly different than lifting weights.
The real test for Thomas will be training camp, and potentially, the preseason.
If he’s able to perform to his typical form during those benchmarks, he’ll be on track to return to the regular season, looking to make a massive impact on the Saints.
The team has missed him over the past three seasons, relying on their second and third options in the receiving game.
Thankfully for the Saints, they selected Chris Olave in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, who has panned out nicely.
Olave and Thomas could be one of the league’s most potent tandems, should Thomas return to form.
Ultimately, the Saints are set to look significantly different this season, even if Thomas isn’t able to play.
Derek Carr has taken over the reins as their quarterback, which will completely change how their offense is run.
Will Thomas be healthy enough to take part in it?
