After an incredible run from the Play-In Tournament to the Western Conference Finals as the seventh seed, the Los Angeles Lakers proved that the moves the team made during the season were precisely what was needed to help turn things around for the storied NBA franchise.
Fortunately for Lakers fans, the team’s front office didn’t ruin the team’s recent success by blowing things up this summer, which the franchise has been known to do at times, especially if there’s a superstar that could be had like Kyrie Irving.
With the Lakers seemingly making all the right moves this summer by bringing back key role players and signing a few players to address specific areas, the 17-time champions will be a team to watch during the upcoming 2023-24 NBA season, with the purple and gold potentially being title contenders.
On October 24, the Lakers will get back to work on the basketball floor, as they’ll take on the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets on the road to start the season, but in the meantime, some of their players are hitting the gym, like D’Angelo Russell, via the team’s Twitter account.

Heading into the summer, Russell’s future with the team was uncertain, as he played well after being reacquired by the team before the NBA trade deadline but then struggled during the NBA playoffs.
However, the Lakers brass seemed to be sold on what he brings to the team and re-signed him on a two-year deal, setting up what could be a promising season for the veteran guard.
