It didn’t take long before Kyrie Irving and the Dallas Mavericks came to terms on a new deal.
Early in free agency, the eight-time All-Star signed a three-year, fully-guaranteed $126 million deal to continue his stay in Texas.
And while some might think that signing him to such a big deal isn’t the wisest idea, given his history of off-court controversies, it’s not like they had much of a choice.
Even so, Irving might be ready to silence his critics once and for all, and judging by a now-viral clip of his offseason workout, that’s more than likely to happen.

There have been a lot of discussions regarding Irving throughout the course of his career.
However, his work ethic and attention to detail have always been as undeniable as his offensive skills and God-given talents.
He’s been quite injury-prone for the better part of his career as well, which will obviously be a big factor to consider for the Mavs, especially as he grows older.
But, assuming they find the right pieces to put around him and Luka Doncic, the Mavs could have one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league for years to come.
The early returns of this experiment obviously were far from what they expected, but it’s not like it was Kyrie’s fault that they failed to make the playoffs.
Then again, he’s always been surrounded by controversy, so we can’t even tell whether he’s going to stay there through his entire contract.
