Contrary to what some people predicted, the Miami Heat didn’t move Jimmy Butler in the offseason.
There were rumors about a potential rift between him and Pat Riley, as he called him out for his antics when he was injured vs. the Boston Celtics.
Also, with him being up in age and reportedly looking for a very lucrative contract extension, it seemed like the table was set for the Heat to find him a new home.
That hasn’t been the case thus far, and barring a major turn of events, that’s not going to happen, at least not before the start of the season.
Whatever the case, the star guard/forward isn’t resting.
As usual, Butler is using the offseason for two things, and two things only: Traveling and working hard.
Butler recently posted a clip of himself going hard in workouts in the sand, showing that Heat Culture never stops grinding (via ClutchPoints).

Butler has never cared too much about the regular season, as he wants to be ready and fresh for when it actually counts.
Notably, he’s struggled with injuries over the most recent part of his career, so perhaps he should take it a little lighter and easier with those workouts, especially throughout the course of the season.
Erik Spoelstra’s practices are infamous for being extremely hard and physical, and Butler is not getting any younger, so they might want to dial a little back on his minutes or his workload to keep him healthy.
